Mullein candles have been used for thousands of years in a variety of settings and cultures. Historically, they were dipped in animal fat and burned to light festivals and significant days, or sometimes simply for much needed light. The creation of these candles utilizes local wild harvested mullein stalks, essential oils, creeping thyme from the cemetery behind the farm, and our home-grown hemp to create complex intoxicating, and therapeutic scent. A final roll in calendula flowers gives them a pleasant look and adds to the beneficial properties.
The stalk can be stuck into the ground, a jar of dirt, or removed to fit securely into a candle holder. It often takes longer than typical candles to start the flame so using a lighter or long match is ideal.

Mullein tapers create a large flame and candles should never be left unattended while burning. Tapers larger than 8 inches should not be burned indoors.
